Oak Street old bike stencils

>> Sunday, August 30, 2009

Oak Street bike lane (north of 35th St) - can we see an old bike lane stencil here?

There are people in this town that are misinformed about our bike lanes. Oak Street (north of 35th Street) is a Minor Arterial Facility, just as 35th Street is. Oak Street has been signed as a bike lane but stencils disappear, even signs get taken down and bike lanes don't get repainted.

Take a closer look above. More questions?

Oak Street south of 35th Street. Repaved bike lane, old bike lane stencil can still be seen. Further south on Oak the bike lane striping never got repainted and the signs were taken down.

There are 3 schools on Oak Street south of 35th and it connects to Miller Park but there is no bike lane along the Elementary school!
